Evidence Points To Wuhan As Source Of Virus
The recent statement by the World Health Organization (WHO) contradicting the charge that the Corona-19 virus originated from a leak at the Wuhan Lab in China is pure propaganda.
After the withdrawal of the US from the WHO, China’s influence in the organization has likely increased. How would the WHO know? It has only just begun its investigation of the virus’ origins.
The US State Department issued a detailed fact sheet on the subject one week before the change in administrations citing previously undisclosed evidence pointing to an accident at the Wuhan Lab as a possible culprit.
The document took weeks to prepare and was thoroughly vetted not only by the State Department, the Intelligence Community, and the White House. It was largely ignored by the media but, in the wake of the WTO statement, it deserves fuller examination.
The document makes three key points, some for the first time:
1. There was an outbreak of flu-like symptoms among Wuhan Lab employees in November of 2019, right before the virus began to spread around the world.
2. The fact sheet says: “Starting in at least 2016 [Wuhan Lab researchers] conducted experiments involving RaTG13, the bat coronavirus identified by the WIV (Wuhan Lab) as its closest sample to SARS CoV-2 (96.2% similar)”
3. The fact sheet said that “the US Government has determined that WIV has collaborated on publications and secret projects with China’s military.”
The fact sheet noted that “accidental infections in labs” have caused “several previous virus outbreaks in China and elsewhere including the deadly SARS outbreak in Beijing.”
It noted that “scientists in China have also researched animal-derived corona viruses under conditions that increased the risk for accidental and potentially unwitting exposure.”
The State Department fact sheet makes it clear that, while the US is “does not know exactly where, when, or how the Covid-19 virus was initially transmitted to humans.” It could have come through contact with infected animals or have been the result of an accident at the Wuhan Laboratory.”
But the WHO, the State Department noted has only just begun to investigate the source of the outbreak “after a year of delays.” The shoot-from-the-hip denial that accidental infection at the Wuhan lab was responsible smacks of propaganda, not of factual research.
